Write an Action Plan
About the Unit Action Plan
Having an Action Plan for your Professional Unit's proposed work is essential. The plan identifies your unit’s Focus Areas for the next two-year period, and the activities the Unit plans to carry out within each area.
Your Action Plan should:
- Identify 1 to 4 Focus Areas for your unit’s work over the next two years
- Describe how at these Focus Areas directly align with IFLA’s Strategic Directions and Key Initiatives
- Identify activities/projects within each Focus Area for the coming year of work
- Propose opportunities for collaboration with other units on your planned activities
- Indicate which of these activities may need Professional Committee funding to be successful
Project Funding
For information about project funding, please see the Officers Basecamp announcement, or the Professional Projects and Funding page.
Implementing your Plan
When implementing the Unit Action Plan, it is essential to meet and communicate with your Standing Committee and working groups to monitor and report on your progress. We recommend that you report on progress at least monthly to the Section Standing Committee and quarterly to your Members, Division Chair and IFLA Headquarters.
At the end of each year, Units prepare a Section Annual Report, which highlights the achievements and the impact of your work.
Full guidance on turning this report into a web page are available in the Information Coordinators space: instructions for converting the Action Plan into a webpage [login required].
