Side event: "The importance of access to information to achieve sustainable development in LAC"

The side event "The importance of access to information to achieve sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean" is part of the Second Meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development 2018, a meeting focused on taking stock of progress in implementing the UN 2030 Agenda in the LAC region. The side event will bring perspectives from ECLAC and UNESCO, as well as IFLA – on how information can make the difference. 

IFLA will be represented in this event by Adriana Cybele Ferrari (Brazil), Jonathan Hernandez-Perez (Mexico, Associate of IFLA's International Leaders Programme) and Maria Violeta Bertolini, Advocacy Communications Officer at IFLA HQ, as well as members of the Chilean library community, represented by the Colegio de Bibliotecarios de Chile.

The side event will take place from 13:00 to 14:30 (local time) on 19 April 2018 at the Hernán Santa Cruz Library.
