• Tunis Declaration on Libraries, Reading and Intergenerational Dialogue [PDF]
    An improtant declaration and strategy for social cohesion was made during the successful symposium, "Reading is a link between generations: Toward a more interdependent society", which took place in Tunisia, 21-23 September 2011, and was attended by 110 participants from 12 countries.
  • Enhancing the Culture of Reading and Books in the Digital Age – Presentations from the IFLA event at the Frankfurt Book Fair
    In association with the Frankfurt Book Fair, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Publishers Association (IPA) and the European Writers' Council (EWC), organised a one day conference on 'The Culture of Reading and Books in the Digital Age' on October 13th 2009. The event was a valuable exercise in co-operation between the organising partners, with lively discussion on current legal frameworks, licensing, emerging technology and technological protection measures, digitisation and the promotion of reading and access to knowledge.
