Ukrainian Library Association focus on communications and partnerships in first BSLA workshop
The Ukraine Library Association's (ULA) first workshop in the Building Strong Library Associations programme was held January 19-21 2011 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Led by core trainer Gillian Hallam, and co-trainer Valentyna Pashkova, the workshop brought together ULA executive office staff, board members, and heads of some of ULA's regional sections. The ULA is participating in BSLA in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Global Libraries Initiative, and Bibliomist.
During the workshop, the participants worked through the modules Building Your Library Association and Developing Strategic relationships to develop their strategic implementation skills and strengthen partnerships. By the end of the workshop, the group will develop communication plans and strategies for the rest of the project.
A second workshop will be held next week, January 24-27 2011, for the ULA's board, with a focus on strategy, planning, communication and teamwork.
